Dr Jeffrey Persson

Dr Jeffrey Person wearing glasses and a black medical scrub top with the name 'Dr Jeffrey Persson' and the phrase 'No.1 Fertility' embroidered on it, standing in a room with pink walls and a round mirror.

Dr Jeffrey Persson is a fertility specialist with 30 years of experience in the field, including 25 years as a CREI specialist.

Over the course of his career, he has helped thousands of individuals and couples build their families, and he continues to find deep satisfaction in supporting people through every stage of their fertility journey.

Known for his open, honest, and approachable manner, Jeffrey is valued by patients for the way he combines specialist expertise with genuine warmth and straightforward communication. He believes patients deserve clear answers, thoughtful care, and treatment plans tailored to their unique circumstances.

Jeffrey has extensive expertise in reproductive genetics, endocrinology, and male and female infertility surgery. He is one of the few reproductive endocrinologists in Australia with specialist expertise in treating azoospermia (zero sperm count), using advanced microscopic sperm extraction procedures, and he is also recognised as a leading expert in vasectomy reversal.

A strong believer that genetics and endocrinology are central to successful fertility treatment, Jeffrey is known for his attention to detail and commitment to developing the best possible approach for each patient. His research interests in genetics and male infertility led him to train and work in Amsterdam before obtaining his MD.

In 1995, Jeffrey received his Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, along with his Certificate in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (CREI). His thesis, Genetic Aspects of Reproductive Failure, reflected the research focus that continues to shape his work today.

Jeffrey has also contributed significantly to advances in IVF treatment. In 1998, he was a pioneer in routinely transferring blastocyst-stage embryos, working alongside renowned embryologist David Mortimer. He continues to lecture at Sydney University, participate in clinical research, and publish on the genetic aspects of infertility.

Outside of medicine, Jeffrey is a passionate admirer of the Mediterranean lifestyle and diet. He enjoys cycling trips through Italy, watching the Tour de France, and spending time with his grandchildren.
